If fate permits and you should happen to come upon a muzzled man, and you, being the kind hearted individual that you are, take the muzzle off to allow him to speak. Upon removing the muzzle, however, you discover that the man is mute.
He thanks you with his eyes and you walk away left to ponder this:
Had the man become mute because he had worn the muzzle so long that he had forgotten how to speak? Or perhaps the man was already mute and someone with good intentions put the muzzle on in hopes that he would forget he was mute and when the muzzle finally came off it would trick him into thinking he could speak.
